COVID-19 has had an unprecedented impact on everyday life across the globe. With many countries closing their schools for the foreseeable future, we’re working on making sure that the support, resources, funding and professional learning on offer from the Connecting Classrooms through Global Learning programme are still available to educators and learners.

Please follow us on Twitter at @LfSScotland and @BCScotland to keep up to date with the latest news and developments, and don’t hesitate to contact us at if you need any additional advice or support in the meantime. Warmest wishes to you all in these uncertain times.

What is Connecting Classrooms?

Understanding the big issues that shape our world has never been more important. Issues like climate change, gender equality and how to live sustainably affect – and connect – us all: wherever we are in the world.

Connecting Classrooms through Global Learning is an exciting new programme that supports schools across the globe to collaborate on and learn about these big issues.

It supports teachers and pupils to enhance and develop the confidence, skills, knowledge, values and attitudes they need to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world – and create positive change as part of a whole-setting approach to Learning for Sustainability.

There are a host of learning opportunities and support on offer through the Connecting Classrooms programme. Whether you are looking for personal development opportunities, or want to collaborate with other schools, you can tailor your journey to suit your needs and priorities; thanks to the programme’s flexible range of elements. It’s completely adaptable to your needs no matter what your role, the subjects you teach, or your whole-school priorities.
