The Conference of the Parties (COP) is the largest global United Nations event for discussions and negotiations on climate change. As the world prepares for COP30, which will be held in Belém, Brazil, from 10 – 21 November 2025, we’re delighted to bring you a series of events, learning opportunities, and inspiration centred around this urgent, vital – and complex – issue.

We look forward to welcoming you!

06 November: Educating for a Healthy Planet: Advancing Planetary Health Literacy on the Road to COP30

Join us and colleagues from the Planetary Health Alliance as we explore the role of Planetary Health education in preparing societies for the urgent transitions demanded by the climate crisis; aligning with COP30’s agenda and the broader Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and building upon the Planetary Health Educational Framework, developed by the Planetary Health Alliance.

09 November: ‘Live at COP30’

Our FREE ‘Learning for Sustainable Futures: Live at the COP’ MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) will return in November 2025 as COP30 gets underway in Belém, Brazil. Since its first iteration in 2021 for COP26, over 20,000 people from over 170 countries have taken part in this collaborative, facilitated learning opportunity.

This course offers you an opportunity to examine what the COP process is, why it’s considered to be important, and reflect on how you can add your voice to the call for collective action for a sustainable future.

Throughout the course, we’ll share ‘live’ insights into the issues being discussed at COP30, as well as responses to the conference themes from delegates, children and young people, community groups and ministerial bodies, both nationally and internationally. Using these ‘starting points’, we invite you to reflect on what you have heard, watched and read, and think about what these conversations and issues mean to you.

Be inspired by Scotland’s secondary school pupils…

Nearly 200 pupils from 19 Scottish secondary schools transformed into world leaders, high-profile lobbyists, and international journalists at two events in Edinburgh and Stirling last week: engaging in high-stakes climate crisis negotiations to mirror the upcoming COP30 talks in Brazil.
