LfS and the future of learning in Scotland’s land-based and aquaculture sectors

3rd October 2022 , 4:00 pm 5:30 pm

What is this event about?

Join Learning for Sustainability Scotland and the Scottish Government for an opportunity to share your views and experiences with the Scottish Government’s Commission for the Land-Based Learning Review and to contribute to shaping the future of learning in Scotland’s land-based and aquaculture sectors.

The event will cover the themes of:

∙ Education and Training

∙ Skills Gaps and Shortages

∙ Awareness and Perception of the Land-based Sector

Background Information

The Commission is a short-term advisory group that will provide Scottish Ministers with independent, evidence-based recommendations and advice on how to attract more people into the land-based and aquaculture sectors and how to improve learning pathways.

The review covers learning from early-years to adulthood – through school, college, university and work-based learning – with the aim to help more people, and specifically more women, to work with and on the land, particularly in ‘green skills’.

A key part of the Review, and the purpose of this stakeholder event, is to gather a wide range of views, experiences and evidence to inform the Commission’s considerations and recommendations.
