RCEs in Europe network webinar #3: ‘Exploring the potential of…tools and frameworks for Education for Sustainable Development’
On Wednesday 18 June, the European network of Regional Centres of Expertise (RCEs) in Education for Sustainable Development welcomed a global audience to the third of its ‘Exploring the potential of…’ webinar series.
Led by RCE Fryslân and RCE Scotland (‘Learning for Sustainability Scotland’), this event focused on ‘Exploring the potential of…tools and frameworks for Education for Sustainable Development’.

Welcoming our guest speakers
Following a welcome, and an introductory overview, which included a theoretical examination of the topic, we were delighted to hear more about two inspirational examples of Tools and Frameworks for Education for Sustainable Development.
- Yaniek Meijer, Luc Oegema, Daniel Martin Romero, and Famke Wynia, RCE Fryslân, Netherlands, shared more about their work to develop a Whole-Setting Approach to ESD Toolkit
- Claire Ramjan and Lizzie Rushton, RCE Scotland, then told us more about Scotland’s National Framework for Learning for Sustainability in Initial Teacher Education.
We then went into a panel discussion, chaired by Max Eisenbart from RCE Fryslân, where questions were posed to the presenters, and additional resources and sources of inspiration were shared.
Betsy King from RCE Scotland then shared some final reflections and concluded the event.
Continuing the conversation…
Participants were invited to share their favourite resources, ideas, and questions regarding Tools and Frameworks for ESD. This facility remains open for participants to continue this ‘conversation’.
