On 28th January 2025, we were delighted to collaborate once again with EAUC Scotland on their latest ESD Topic Support Network meeting, which had a focus on Positive Impacts on Learning and Quality.

Convened by Christine Calder from Dundee and Angus College, the meeting explored what is meant by ‘quality’, and heard some wonderful case studies on the positive impacts that an ‘ESD lens’ can have on learning and quality in further and higher education – and how this can add value to the requirements of the Tertiary Quality Enhancement Framework (TQEF): the new Framework to evaluate the quality of teaching and learning in Scotland’s colleges and universities.

Speakers included Simon Kemp from the University of Southampton, who shared more about embedding ESD with impact at the University of Southampton in strategy and practice; and Kerry McInnes/Christine Anderson from UHI Moray, who shared the story of Under the Scissors – a student-led interdisciplinary programme on climate communication for hairdressing and environmental science students.
