Practical support that will enable school leaders to address Learning for Sustainability

Practical insights from leading experts in Learning for Sustainability: a key Scottish Government, GTCS and schools priority for successfully implementing Curriculum for Excellence and raising achievement and attainment across the school.

    Programme Summary

A whole school approach to Learning for Sustainability is as an effective way of successfully implementing Curriculum for Excellence and raising achievement and attainment across the school.  It is also an entitlement for every pupil in Scotland as well as a central aspect of the GTCS Professional Standards for teachers at every stage of their career.  However delivering this effectively is a key challenge for school leaders and their colleagues faced with an ever increasing ‘to do ‘list.

This highly interactive programme will highlight simple steps that school leaders can take to develop an effective whole school approach to Learning for Sustainability. It will enable you to effectively plan for and implement Learning for Sustainability requirements in your school in ways that will significantly enhance the educational experience of your pupils. A free follow-up twilight course is available to provide the opportunity for continuing collaboration with colleagues and for sharing insights from critical self-evaluation, reflection and enquiry.

    • Participate in approaches to leading Learning for Sustainability in the context of Curriculum for Excellence
    • Receive take-away materials that will be of practical value to you as a school leader
