CONFERENCE - Cracking the Cultural Code
THIS EVENT IS NOW FULLY BOOKED
You can now book your place for LfS Scotland's annual conference, Cracking the Cultural Code: learning to create a sustainable society. This is the once-a-year opportunity for Scotland's Learning for Sustainability (LfS) community to come together to listen to thought-provoking speakers, discuss the work we all do, connect with colleagues, learn new knowledge and skills and catalyse thinking and action on what we can collectively do to harness the full potential of learning to create a flourishing, sustainable world.Changing our culture - the way we do things and the stories we tell about ourselves - has been a growing theme in LfS in recent years, so this year's conference is all about exploring culture. We are delighted that Andy Wightman - writer, researcher, analyst, commentator, activist and author of Who Owns Scotland? and The Poor had No Lawyers - will be our Keynote speaker; challenging our thinking on the place of 'ownership and belonging' in Scotland's history and culture. The Discussion Panel will offer their perspectives on the story of LfS in Scotland from a international, national and learner's viewpoint and the presentations and workshops will offer an opportunity to experiment with different ways for using culture in LfS and using LfS to bring about cultural change. For more details see the agenda.
This conference has been organised in partnership with the Scottish Government as the next in the series of conferences contributing to Learning for Change: Scotland's Action Plan for the second half of the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (UNDESD). This conference will celebrate what has been achieved during the UNDESD and mark the start of the post-Decade phase of action.
It is still possible to be added to the waiting list and places may become available due to cancellations. You can add yourself to the waiting list here.
