DESCRIPTION:Book your place on this free webinar to hear more\, ask questions and begin your own Connecting Classrooms journey! \nConnecting Classrooms through Global Learning is an exciting new programme that supports teachers and pupils to collaborate with each other locally and globally.  \nIt supports teachers and pupils to enhance the confidence\, skills\, knowledge\, values and attitudes they need to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world – and create positive change as part of a whole-setting approach to Learning for Sustainability. \nThere are a host of learning opportunities and support on offer through the Connecting Classrooms programme. Whether you are part of a cluster of schools\, an individual school – or interested in personal development opportunities – you can tailor your journey to suit your needs and priorities; thanks to the programme’s flexible range of elements. \nWhat does the programme offer?\nCo-funded by the British Council and the Department for International Development (DfID)\, the programme offers: \n\nFully-funded professional learning: delivered in a way that suits you and your setting\nFree support from local experts across Scotland\nFree classroom resources to support pupil projects themed around the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)\nGenerous funding to facilitate international visits by staff to partner schools in other countries\, events and training: – up to £3\,000 for ‘one-to-one’ partnerships and £35\,000 for ‘cluster’ partnerships.\nAutomatic recognition leading to accreditation through the British Council International School Award.\n\nClick here to find out more about the programme. \nJoin us to hear more\, ask questions and begin your own Connecting Classrooms journey!

DESCRIPTION:NEW facilitated online CLPL for teachers starting 22nd March 2019.\nClick here to reserve your place here on Eventbrite. \n\nAligned with Scotland’s education priorities and the UN Sustainable Development Goals\, this professional learning supports you to develop the confidence to plan for\, and implement\, Learning for Sustainability in your practice\, making connections at individual\, school and global levels\, and inspiring students to collaborate on the issues that shape our world. \nAvailable at three levels:\nLevel 2 (6 hours over 6 weeks) 22nd March – 10th May 2019 \nLevel 3 (12 hours over 10 weeks) 22nd March – 7th June 2019 \nLevel 4 (18 hours over 3 terms) 22nd March – 20th December 2019 \nWhy participate?\nScotland is unique internationally in having a requirement for all teachers and education professionals to address Learning for Sustainability (LfS) in their practice. This fully funded professional learning\, created by the University of Edinburgh and Learning for Sustainability Scotland\, for the British Council Connecting Classrooms programme\, will: \n\nSupport you to create an enabling environment for Learning for Sustainability and significantly enhance your learners’ educational experience\nInform your PRD and GTCS Professional Update\nSupport whole-school and community approaches to Learning for Sustainability\nGive access to an international network of like-minded teachers\n\nYour engagement in the programme could\, in time\, lead to Professional Recognition from the GTCS. \nWho can participate?\nAll teachers in Scotland. You will be supported by skilled facilitators with a background in Learning for Sustainability and online learning and do not need any advanced technical expertise to take part. \nWhat will be asked of you?\nThe course involves participation in online discussions and activities at a time that is convenient for you. \nLevel 2 (6 hours over 6 weeks) 22nd March – 10th May 2019 \nLevel 3 (12 hours over 10 weeks) 22nd March – 7th June 2019 \nLevel 4 (18 hours over 3 terms) 22nd March – 20th December 2019 \nWe will ask you to try out some activities and ideas with your learners and to share your learning with others throughout the course.
