DESCRIPTION:We’re delighted to be running our ‘Learning for a Sustainable Future’ MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) once again. Since 2021\, over 6\,000 people from over 100 countries have taken part in this collaborative\, facilitated learning opportunity. \n\n\n\nJoin a personal and professional global learning journey towards a sustainable future.  \n\n\n\nWhat on Earth could be more important? \n\n\n\n\nClimate change\, gender equality\, health\, social equity\, and inclusion are issues that affect us all\, impacting human well-being and economic stability. How to live a sustainable life affects – and connects – everyone. \n    \n                \n    \n    \n\n\n\nOn this FREE five-week course\, you’ll develop an informed personal response to these major challenges as you’re supported to take positive actions towards a sustainable future. \n\n\n\nYou’ll learn more about current global issues and consider how we can all take action\, personally or locally. \n\n\n\nThe course has an additional strand for those working in formal or informal education\, who want to bring some of the activities and issues covered in the course into their own teaching. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nFind out more and sign up here. This fully funded professional learning\, created by the University of Edinburgh and Learning for Sustainability Scotland\, for the British Council Connecting Classrooms programme\, will: \n\nSupport you to create an enabling environment for Learning for Sustainability and significantly enhance your learners’ educational experience\nInform your PRD and GTCS Professional Update\nSupport whole-school and community approaches to Learning for Sustainability\nGive access to an international network of like-minded teachers\n\nYour engagement in the programme could\, in time\, lead to Professional Recognition from the GTCS. \nWho can participate?\nAll teachers in Scotland. You will be supported by skilled facilitators with a background in Learning for Sustainability and online learning and do not need any advanced technical expertise to take part. \nWhat will be asked of you?\nThe course involves participation in online discussions and activities at a time that is convenient for you. \nLevel 2 (6 hours over 6 weeks) 8th February – 22nd March 2019 \nLevel 3 (12 hours over 10 weeks) 8th February – 3rd May 2019 \nLevel 4 (18 hours over 3 terms) 3rd May – 13th December 2019 \nWe will ask you to try out some activities and ideas with your learners and to share your learning with others throughout the course. In addition at Level 3 you will be asked to present your activities and reflect on their impacts and at level 4 to submit a portfolio of learning. \n \nCourse Participants will:\n\nIn the context of Learning for Sustainability and the UN Sustainable Development Goals\, reflect on how to develop the skills and dispositions required of teachers and learners to live in an interdependent world\nCritically consider practical approaches to learning and teaching for Learning for Sustainability\nApply in practice and reflect on the impact of approaches to Learning for Sustainability at an individual\, whole school and global level\nDevelop confidence in your teacher leadership for Learning for Sustainability and engage in peer learning opportunities through an established practitioner network for Learning for Sustainability\n\nCourse Programme\n \n\nClick here to reserve your place here on Eventbrite.
