The Outward Bound Trust is an educational charity that helps develop young people through challenging outdoor experiences, each uniquely tailored to meet schools’ objectives, including leadership and teamwork. Research findings published in our Social Impact Reports confirm that these experiences increase pupils’ confidence, resilience and social well-being – skills that are sought after in the modern workplace and underpin successful social development.
We have worked in partnership with schools for over 70 years, transforming the lives of more than 1 million young people.
The Trust operates four young people residential centres throughout the UK. We are well positioned in Scotland to deliver weekend, one and three week residential experiences from our centre based in Loch Eil, near Fort William. Our Metro team based in Glasgow run specialist peripatetic courses, which give young people across central Scotland (who may not be suited to a traditional residential) access to non-residential development experiences.
