Aberdeen Urban Studies Trust (AUST) was established to further sustainable development education in North-East Scotland.
Learning & Teaching Resources
An important and well-known part of our work is devising resources for learning out-of-doors. Experiences typically use the local environment of the school and specific locations in Aberdeen chosen for their learning and teaching potential. Teachers link these initial learning experiences in the environment with planned classroom-based studies covering other areas of the curriculum.
Working in co-operation with local and national agencies.
The Trust has developed good working relationships with several agencies to devise learning and teaching programmes dealing with historical and geographical topics as well as those based in the natural sciences and health and well being.
Professional Review and Development.
In-service courses continue to be an important part of the Trust’s work, especially in relation to probationer and newly-qualified staff.
