Professional Development Courses – 2015 programme open for bookings

LfS Scotland, in partnership with the Moray House School of Education, is now taking bookings for our 2015 programme of Continuing Professional Development Courses for Teachers.

Leadership for Sustainability

23 Jan 2015, 09:30-16:00 + follow-up twilight

A one-day course for Head Teachers, Depute Head Teachers and Principal Teachers in primary or secondary schools, and local authority officers with a key role in supporting Learning for Sustainability.

This highly interactive programme will highlight simple steps that school leaders can take to develop an effective whole-school approach to Learning for Sustainability. It will enable you to effectively plan for and implement Learning for Sustainability requirements in your school in ways that will significantly enhance the educational experience of your pupils.

A free follow-up twilight course, 15:30-17:00 on 11th Feb 2015, is available to provide the opportunity for continuing collaboration with colleagues and for sharing insights from critical self-evaluation, reflection and enquiry.

Learning for Sustainability in your GTCS Professional Update Portfolio

Part I – 06 Feb 2015, 13:00-16:00

Part II – 04 Mar 2015, 16:30-18:00

This interactive two-part course highlights key steps teachers can take to address the Learning for Sustainability content of the General Teaching Council Scotland (GTCS) Professional Standards.

Participants will work on developing an effective personal Professional Development Plan to address the Learning for Sustainability requirements of the Professional Update process, and implement this in ways that will significantly enhance practice and the educational experience of your pupils.

The twilight session will provide the opportunity for continuing collaboration with colleagues and for sharing insights from critical self-evaluation, reflection and enquiry.
